Traveling to Venice Italy is one of the highlights that many people say they have when they decide to travel the world. Their are many fun and interesting facts about Venice Italy such as, Venice is the most popular travel destination apart from Rome and the Vatican City.  One of the things that makes Venice travel so much fun is the fact that a person can take boats to go wherever they desire.  Venice is a city that was built on one hundred and seventeen small islands.  Venice has one hundred fifty canals and waterways and some four hundred bridges where only three of them cross the main canal.  Summer is the worst season to go to Venice when people travel Italy.  The temperatures normally get up to the high eighties Fahrenheit and the humidity can get near one hundred percent.  These conditions can make for a sweaty, sticky visit that will not be as fun due to being uncomfortable.

One of the main ways of travel in Venice is vaporettos or water buses.  These water buses can seat anywhere from nineteen to one hundred and fifty passengers comfortably.  There are larger transports, such as ferries, that have room for not only five hundred passengers but also hold spaces for cars on board.  While these water buses do not sound like the most comfortable way in Venice to travel but in Italy people find it the easiest way.

Another way to travel around in Venice is to hire a private water taxi.  These taxis will pick their client up at a specific dock, take them where they need to go and will wait for them to be finished depending upon how busy the firm is that day or evening.  When in Venice and needing to travel people in Italy will find that using water buses are much cheaper than hiring a private water taxi.  Water taxis tend to be over priced and can end up costing a small fortune just for a short drive, especially after ten at night.

If a person wants to leave Venice to travel the rest of Italy, they simply need to look at train and plane prices.  Trains will give the person a better view of the country.  Many trains travel along the coastline, while other will take a tourist along the numerous vineyards that dot the Italian countryside.  Another way to leave and see the rest of Italy is by plane.  Travel by plane is best if a tourist is only planning on being away for the day or for the weekend.

When planning a visit to Venice, plan on travel in Italy being a bit on the busy side if the plan is to go towards the last ten days of February.  The eighteenth through the twenty eighth of February is when the Carnival of Venice takes place.  This ten day extravaganza is one of the main reasons that people travel to Venice.  After almost eight centuries of dancing, drinking, parades, theater and general fun, the Carnival takes precedence over everything.  Ways in Venice to travel are harder during Carnival season than in the rest of Italy.

When planning to go to Venice, plan to travel Italy in its entirety.  Venice offers a stunning array of restaurants, clubs, and sites.  However, there are things that are not in Venice and can only be done by taking time to travel the rest of Italy.  Venice can offer a nice retreat; however, people can not see the stunning countryside, rolling vineyards, and taste wines straight from their barrels in the storehouses.  Waterways are not the only way in Venice to travel, but in Italy it is the most beautiful.
